For some people, a good host is a free host. But know this, over 95% of free hosts place advertising banners on your pages. They usually don't provide much in the way of quality features. And, the host company's servers (where web site resides) is usually so crowded with other peoples web pages that all the web pages take a long time to see [slow loading pages]. That is not a good thing, and it certainly is not very professional.
However, if you want the look and feel of your site to be the best .. it is very "important" to note the quality of the various features being provided by the host company. Your web site may be for personal use or perhaps you have an internet business. Whatever the case, it becomes a balance between the amount of space you get for your site, the great things you can do with it, and that the cost of hosting is reasonable.
